Gilad Kavalerchik is a photojournalist and sports photographer who specializes in extreme sports photography and underwater photography. Gilad started his photography career in 2001 as a photographer for Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper as photographed for the sports and supplements news sections.In 2005 he started work as a photo editor(for the news) in Yedioth Ahronoth and was one of the founders of the Calcalist newspaper (economic newspaper). After becoming a freelance photographer in 2009, he continued to focus on his great love of sports photography and in particular water sports photography while using the extensive knowledge he acquired over the years in Documentary, news and studio photography which is reflected in the creation of fascinating photographic series with an emphasis on composition, aesthetics and precise lighting which earned him 14 local testimonial wins as well as 6 international competitions

While Recreational & Traditional Sports is mostly for amateur settings, entries in this category should be from professional, semi-professional and school competitions. Each participant is allowed to enter up to 10 images. The images must be taken in 2022.
