Samuel Ang (b. 2002) is a Singapore based photojournalist and sports photographer. He started his career in visual journalism as an intern photojournalist, with Singapore’s national English language daily broadsheet, The Straits Times. Samuel first picked up photography as a student at St Andrew’s Secondary School, shooting the Saints Rugby and Hockey teams in their various exploits at the National School Games. He then pursued Mass Communication at Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Film & Media Studies (FMS). A journalist before he is a photographer, Samuel is interested in telling visually compelling stories about the people and places around him, and for his audience to experience the same connection he felt to the story. He is also an experienced sports photographer, having shot major international sporting events, like the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, and the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Singapore.
