I have been working as a professional photojournalist for 22 years. I have a B.A. Degree in Journalism and I started working in the media sector during my university years. I have been working for the official newswire of Turkey, Anadolu Agency (AA), for 16 years. Throughout my career, I have covered and photographed significant domestic and international news developments. I have closely followed politics, travelled with government officials abroad and covered their talks with foreign dignitaries, worked in war and conflict zones such as Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan, covered natural disasters such as forest fires and earthquakes, attended international sports events including the World Cup, European Football Championship and La Liga games, and received awards at national level for my work. My photographs have been published in numerous international media outlets including The New York Times, The Guardian, The Atlantic, ESPN and CNN Intl. I lived and worked in Spain for 1.5 years, where I had the chance to photograph the colorful and vibrant culture, arts and sports scene. I hold an official press card in Turkey and I am a member of the Turkish Photojournalists’ Association (FMD).
