Hello, I am Rajendra Mohan Pandey, a Kolkata, India based independent documentary and travel photographer. I am a self-taught artist and a practicing visual story teller for the last 6 years and have worked in various parts of India. My work includes people from various socio-economic backgrounds focusing on their life in a more intimate form. Earlier, in the year 2018, I contributed to a book “Altars of Yearning: How India Prays”, which was released in The House of Lords by Cherie Blair (wife of Tony Blair) the former first lady of Great Britain. Apart from it, I am also the recipient of Russian Press Photo Award at ‘The Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest’, Nikon Photo Contest, HIPA Photo Contest (Instagram) and Sony World Photography Awards , CGAP Photo Contest , Syngenta Photography Award and a contributor to a few publications including the ‘Nat Geo Traveller India’ and ‘FujiLove Magazine’. My work has been exhibited in a National Geographic curated fest ‘PhotoFest’ held in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico (2019) wherein 25 photos were selected out of 13000 entries received from over 195 countries. Same year I was also honored at the Kolkata International Photography Festival. In 2017 my works were exhibited in Chelyabinsk State Museum of Local History, Chelyabinsk, Russia as a part of the ‘Around the World in 80 Days’ exhibition.
