Wallace Woon is a visual journalist covering news in Singapore for the European PressPhoto Agency. His first pictures were of skateboarding and skateboarders have carried on into an enduring interest in sub cultures and marginalised communities. He has worked around the region and covered events such as the Trump-Kim summits, the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the death of Singapore’s first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, and most recently, the Covid-19 global pandemic. His images have been published in the New York Times, The Guardian, BBC, the South China Morning Post.
